Maria Evestus

Maria Evestus is a painter whose layered, mixed-media artworks bring together collage, acrylics, and various materials to create dreamlike, illustrative characters and worlds. Inspired by Nordic nature and its contrasts, Evestus uses natural elements and archetypes as a gateway to the viewer's soul. The artist consciously speaks to the collective subconscious through familiar symbols often drawn from fairy tales and folklore, yet intertwined with a 20th-century retro aesthetic and pop culture elements.

Evestus has held over 30 solo exhibitions, and her works can be found in numerous private collections both in Estonia and abroad (Finland, UK and Germany). Maria Evestus is a member of the Tartu Artists' Union.
