Delivery and pickup

Last updated: 1 August 2026. Fair delivery from Estonia: the customer sees the real shipping cost before payment, and fragile objects are packed or routed properly instead of cheaply.

Pickup

Pickup from BÄSTARD, Telliskivi 60a-5, Tallinn is free. Please wait for confirmation before coming, so we can prepare the order and make sure the item is still available.

How delivery price is set

Delivery is quoted after we know the packed size, weight, destination and fragility of the order. This keeps shipping fair without making the gallery lose money on protective packing or carrier surcharges.

The delivery quote may include the current Omniva or courier price, required fragile handling, insurance for valuable goods, packaging materials and special handling for oversized or very delicate items.

If the delivery quote feels too high, you can cancel the order before payment. We do not ship fragile work at a loss or in unsafe packaging.

  • Local pickup: EUR 0.
  • Standard Estonia / Baltic parcel: quoted from the current carrier price before payment.
  • Fragile handling: added when needed; Omniva lists fragile handling for domestic parcels at EUR 2.02 with VAT.
  • Insurance: added for valuable or one-off pieces when needed; Omniva lists insurance as 1% of the declared shipment value.
  • Special packing, framed works, glass, ceramics, heavy items or oversized artworks: quoted individually before payment.

Estimated delivery time

Delivery time starts after payment, packing and handover to the carrier. Very fragile, large or insured shipments can take longer because we may need special packing or courier arrangement.

Omniva states that parcels handed over to them usually take 1-2 working days within Estonia to a parcel machine or post office, and 2-3 working days in the Baltics. Baltic courier shipments are usually delivered within 3 days after handover, excluding Sundays and public holidays.

International delivery depends on the country, service and customs situation. We quote the service and estimated timing before payment whenever shipping outside Estonia or the Baltics.

Fragile, valuable and large objects

Some works may be pickup-only or courier-only. This can apply to framed glass, ceramics, heavy pieces, large artworks, delicate originals, high-value jewellery and objects that would be unreasonable to send through a parcel machine.

For jewellery we may require tracked and insured shipping. For candles and soap we use protective packing, and may delay or refuse shipping if heat, leakage or hygiene risk makes delivery unsuitable. Posters may ship in tubes or flat mailers depending on the paper and edition.

Damage, loss and uncollected parcels

If a parcel arrives damaged, photograph the outside packaging before opening, photograph the item and keep all packing materials. Email us as soon as possible so we can make a carrier or insurance claim.

If the parcel is not collected and is returned to us, the customer may need to pay return, storage or re-shipping costs charged by the carrier unless the issue was our fault.

Customs and import costs

For delivery outside Estonia and especially outside the EU, the customer is responsible for import VAT, customs duty, customs declarations and local carrier fees unless we clearly agree otherwise in writing.
