Cowboy Plague
Cowboy Plague explored how Western cowboy culture has infected local creative scenes and reshaped Baltic fashion, style, and visual language. The exhibition traced the ways this imagery moves through contemporary subcultures — shifting meaning as it passes through art, design, and alternative aesthetics. Bringing together artists working across different disciplines, the exhibition examined how global symbols are absorbed, reinterpreted, and transformed within regional creative contexts. Cowboy Plague formed part of BÄSTARD’s ongoing programme of group exhibitions focused on cultural remixing, contemporary subcultures, and alternative visual identities.
